Adventure Rider Training 2011

January 29th, 30th and 31st, 2011

Following on from the success of our recent Adventure Training Event in Rotorua, KTM, Chris Birch and the team at High Country Trail are doing it again in Central Otago in January.

The concept is a 3 day led adventure ride fully suitable for any big adventure bikes with building skills the emphasis, especially on the 1st day. Under the instruction of our kiwi “Romaniac” and adventure riding enthusiast Chris Birch mounted on KTMs new 690R, you’ll learn and practice fundamental & advanced skills. Then you’ll have some ‘time on the bike’ to cement the learning.

Included in the $795 entry cost are all ride day meals, 4 nights accommodation on a share twin basis. Days 2 & 3 will consist of a 600km adventure ride led by High Country Trail’s Robbie Crickett on the KTM 990 through gravel roads and tracks of Central Otago. Back up vehicle and sweep crew included.

The dates of this Alexandra based event are confirmed as January 29th, 30th and 31st. Numbers will be limited.

KTM ‘Back from Burt’ Ride

A 4 day adventure tour starting in Invercargill and finishing in Tekapo riding some of the south’s finest big bore trails

All inclusive cost of nz$880.00 (inc gst, meals & accom)

Any road legal gravel road capable bike, course follows farm, high country and gravel back roads.

KTM Historic Sheep Stations Tour.

High Country Trail join with KTM to advise that Dave Britten (adventure ride exponent) will be assisting with this tour.

This is the Big One. A 5 day Route sheeted and self-guided adventure tour starting at Invercargill on February 28th and finishing on Friday March 4th in Methven. 

Visit iconic High Country Sheep stations of the deep south as we ride the tracks, trails and back country roads of this beautiful region.
All inclusive price of $1990 per rider includes our experienced guides and backup team, 6 nights accommodation, all ride day meals, luggage transport and support vehicle along with any land access and DOC fees. Numbers will be limited by accommodation constraints and landowner preference.

Visit the New Zealand heartland on this extensive adventure suitable for experienced riders on suitable dual sport machines fitted with dual purpose tyres preferably with some knob pattern.
